“No matter where you travel these days you’ll probably see the same old brands and the same attractions. Only food can truly reflect the unique culture of a place. You have to be there to taste the freshest ingredients and the authentic flavours. I like travelling, but I love food more. Wherever I travel I make sure to visit local supermarkets and wet markets. I love finding new restaurants only locals frequent. For me a life well travelled is about flavours, which is why I enjoy my job designing menus for Cathay Dragon. People may have low expectation of in-flight meals before, but I don’t think that applies to the Cathay Dragon experience. Chinese cuisine is one of our strong suits: winter melon soup, clay pot rice – we aim to create almost anything you can imagine. The menu changes every two weeks too which keeps our passengers constantly surprised. As a Hong Kong local, I understand local tastes and believe that food can be the best way to make our passengers feel right at home in Hong Kong from when they board the plane to when they arrive.”
