“Just travelling, for me, means taking any mode of transport to get from A to B, without any expectations. Being well travelled, however, is about having certain expectations met, or even bettered. And over the years I’ve worked for Cathay I’ve learned that true customer experience must start at the very beginning. It’s not just about the moment the passengers step on the plane, so when I do my briefing before the flight I try to get the crew in the same headspace so we can share the same vision as the passengers. It’s really about finding the beauty within yourself first and having the right spirit. And once you’ve built that trust with your staff a special bond is created that you bring on board. That’s the best environment to work in, for both the crew and the passengers.”
